Module 3 · Lesson 1 of 4

The Morning Question

One simple question asked every morning — “What can I do here in the now?” — points your whole day before the world starts pulling at you.

Most mornings go like this: alarm, phone, and within ninety seconds you're reading about somebody else's emergency. Your day gets pointed by whoever shouted loudest in your notifications. No wonder it feels like the day happens to you.

Here's the alternative, and it takes about ten seconds: before you touch your phone, ask yourself one question — “What can I do here in the now?” Then listen. Not for the ten things. For the one thing that rises to the top — the thing that, if you did it today, would make today feel like it counted.

You don't have to solve the whole day. You just have to point it. One question, asked before the world starts pulling at you, and you're steering instead of reacting. Try it tomorrow morning. Phone stays face-down until you've asked.

Your Now-Step

Tomorrow morning, ask yourself the question before you touch your phone. Just ask it and listen for the answer.

A moment to reflect

Where in your day does the now-step habit fit most naturally — morning, midday reset, or evening wind-down?

Private — these notes never leave your device.

“Keep going.”
