Module 2 · Lesson 1 of 4
Shrink It Till It's Silly
Any task can be broken down until the first piece feels almost too easy — and “too easy” is exactly where starting lives.
"Clean the kitchen" is not a task — it's a threat. Your brain hears it, does a quick calculation, decides it will take forever, and quietly suggests a nap instead. The problem isn't you. The problem is the size of the thing.
So we shrink it. "Clean the kitchen" becomes "clear one counter." One counter becomes "put the mugs in the sink." Keep going until the task feels almost silly — so small you'd be embarrassed to call it a task at all. That embarrassment-proof size? That's exactly where starting lives.
Pick one thing from your pile and shrink it to a five-minute version. Not the whole thing — just the first five minutes of it. Write the tiny version down, because the tiny version is the real task now. The big version can wait its turn.

A moment to reflect
What did your tiny win teach you about what you're actually capable of?
Private — these notes never leave your device.
“Move forward.”
