Module 1 · Lesson 3 of 4

The Permission Slip

Nobody's coming to give you permission to go slow and start small, so you give it to yourself — in writing.

Most of us are still waiting for permission. Permission to rest without guilt. Permission to do the small version instead of the impressive version. Permission to start over at our age, in our situation, with our history.

Here's the secret nobody tells you: nobody is coming to sign that slip. Not your mother, not your boss, not the universe. The only signature that counts is yours — which is actually wonderful news, because it means you can have it today.

So write it out, for real, on paper: "I have permission to do one small thing today." Sign your name. Stick it on the fridge, the bathroom mirror, wherever you'll see it. It sounds silly until the day you're standing in the kitchen at 9pm, exhausted, and that little slip reminds you that one small thing is not only enough — it's the whole method of this course.

Your Now-Step

Write yourself a literal permission slip: “I have permission to do one small thing today.” Stick it on the fridge where you'll see it.

A moment to reflect

What's the heaviest thing on your list right now — and what's the smallest piece of it you could touch today?

Private — these notes never leave your device.

“Keep going.”
